5th Annual Sri Lanka Foundation Awards were lovely & awe inspiring.
Princes and Princesses graced the enchanting venue where dazzling lights sparkled on their classy attire.
The dinner was delicious and the dessert was mouth watering. Emcees and organizers guided the attendees to event's happenings.
Awards were presented to essay contest and 1st Annual Performer's Talent Contest winners. Susantha Halambarachchige, Dr. Kumari Andarwewa, & Cheryl Perera received the Exceptional Performance by a Young Professional Award. Dr. Benille Emmanuel & Bhadraji Mahinda Jayatilaka received the Exceptional Acievement Award. Lifetime Achievement Award was bestowed to Prof. Malinee Peris, Dr. Edmond Kulatilake, Prof. Harindra Joseph Fernando. Savvy professional, Raja Edirisuriya, was credited with the Srimerican of the Year Award. This year, a special award, President's Award was given to honor Rajah Rutnam for his contributions in the Sri Lankan/American community. ( I learned that he was the first Sri Lankan to come to the US-cool)
Pageants News:
Beautiful Anisha Kurukulasuriya was crowned Miss Teen Sri Lanka-USA, and Lovely Rukshani Perera was crowned Miss Sri Lanka-USA
Music:
Malcolm De Cauwe and the Midnight Sun along with Chaminda Walpola and Preetysha kept the rhythm alive in the splendid dance room.
